From 16 to 20 June, the Rodari School in Vicenza (Via Turra 43) hosted the Youth Sports Camp, a summer camp organised by NATIVE odv for children aged 8 to 13. This unique experience combined sports, English and Christian values, giving participants an unforgettable week of fun and growth.
Team sports and fair play
The children tried their hand at three exciting sports:
- Frisbee
- Basketball
- Dodgeball
Led by professional coaches, they learned the rules of the game and the importance of teamwork, respect and perseverance. Through videos and stories of famous athletes, they discovered how the values of sport can inspire everyday life.
Learning English… while having fun!
As in the English course organised by NATIVE, the English language was also present at the camp, taught in a natural way during the activities thanks to the presence of:
- Native speakers
- Italian educators
The children improved their pronunciation and comprehension, experiencing English as a tool for play and sharing.
Successful participation and an exciting finale
With 47 participants, many of whom had already taken part in previous NATIVE initiatives, the camp confirmed its strong bond with local families. The atmosphere was one of enthusiasm and learning, enriched by moments of reflection on Gospel principles.
The week ended with a small performance for the parents, where the children showed what they had learned. Everyone was given a book as a tangible reminder of this formative experience.
Thanks to everyone who made it possible!
Special thanks to:
- Coaches and teachers for their professionalism and passion
- Children and families for their trust and positive energy
- Volunteers and collaborators for their dedicated service
The Youth Sports Camp was not just a summer camp, but an adventure of friendship, growth and fun. See you next year!
